Have you seen the movie Midnight in Paris? It is a beautiful love letter to Paris.
I was lucky enough to go to Paris at the end of May (*sighs*) and experience the magic of the city firsthand.
Nicknamed the City of Lights, Paris was illuminated from the lamp posts that line the streets to the
stunning display of lights that is the Eiffel Tower. Yes, Paris in the springtime is beautiful but it was also
crowded and thanks to a long drought, very warm. That meant more glace and gelato were consumed—no
complaints from me! Here are some of my favorite things from a spring weekend in Paris.Macaroons
Ah, the macaroon. Somehow more than a mere cookie, macaroons come in a wide range of flavors and
incredible colors. Two of my favorites were rhubarb and pictured here, fleur de sel caramel.Garden Show
Springtime in Paris means the annual garden show: Jardins, Jardin. The garden show took place in the
Tuileries gardens located between the Louvre and Place de la Concorde. This field of lavender was a
temporary display just for the show.Hotel de Nice
We stayed in an eclectic little hotel in the Marais that was a pattern-lover's dream. Toile wallpaper
paired with chintz, stripes mixed with plaids and marbling, the colors and patterns were bold and
quintessentially Parisian. And so was the lighting--like the utterly French table lamps with their fringed shades.Roman Mosaic Floor
After escaping the crowds in front of the Mona Lisa, we explored the Roman and Greek collections
at the Louvre. I think I was the only person taking pictures of floors in the Louvre.Moroccan Plates
And of course, since it is Paris, there was a lot of shopping to be done! We found these amazing Moroccan
plates and tangines at a market in the Bastille. We should have brought a bigger suitcase.Bistro
Warm evenings meant eating outside. Spending time with the one you love, eating eclairs paired with a
glass of wine under an array of beautiful outdoor lights, can you say "parfaite"? Loved the colorful
cushions and tables at this bistro.Hope you enjoyed this glimpse into my springtime in Paris weekend. I'm ready to go back!Today's guest post is from Susi, a writer for Arcadian Lighting, a must-shop resource for beautiful
lighting fixtures at extremely affordable prices. This post was inspired by her recent visit to Paris in
the Spring. There is just something about Paris in the Spring, oui?
