I'll Just Watch the Cuteness From Afar.

Photo from: THX THX THX

This is how I feel when I see people walking their adorable pets around my little community outside my apartment. They're fun to look at and awe about, but do I want to wake up in the wee hours of the morning to walk my very hyper puppy on a leash around Addison Circle in 33 degree weather in my pajamas? No, I don't. Therefore, I'll admire your young little dog from a distance and think to myself how I love the extra sleep I get in my warm bed.
Hope your week is going by as fast as mine!

Turn It Up.

1) Amersterdam/ Griffin House
2) The Cave/ Mumford & Sons
3) Poison & Wine/ The Civil Wars
4) These Girls/ Ryan Adams
5) Heartbeats/ Jose Gonzalez
6) Lua/ Bright Eyes

I've had all kinds of music playing through my speakers lately, but I've kept coming back to my acoustic loves recently. Maybe it goes best with the sun streaming in my windows or my laziness on the couch, either way, this is what I've been turning up.

Sit Under The Shade.

As I'm decorating my new home, I've got so many ideas going in my head, yet I feel as though I haven't implemented any of them. I was browsing some of my favorite sites the other day for inspration and ideas that were steal-able* (as in easy to do and won't require all of my paycheck) and I came across some great stuff. Not necessarily steal-able*, but great. So may I please...

Have my couch under a tree?

And make a table out of adorable books?

I would love to take a layer from my table and read under the shade.

Yes, I'll Take Some.

Oh, the week I've had. With work and moving out, I am just pooped. Yet so excited for the changes. I'm moving into my new little loft this weekend and I'm so ready to settle in there. I didn't realize how many thingS I had crammed into such a a little space until I try to pack it up but as I look at my new place, I realize how many things I'm lacking. Thus explains the very large amount of time I've spent at Ikea lately. It's a good thing they have food there.

Speaking of food, don't those macaroons look delightful? I think I should curl up with a few and de-stress to some Elizabethtown. Yeah, I'm really thinking I should.

I Wish I Could Pull That Off.

Patterned walls are risky. I'm not a risky girl. I don't bet on football games, I don't have anything to do with stocks, and you won't see me using pennies to scratch lottery tickets. The only risk I take is running through the yellow light when I know it'll be red by the time I'm underneath it. These patterned walls are risky but fabulous. Somehow, they complete the room but don't give it the busyness you would assume zig-zags and stripes might give. This is something I would love to be able to pull off. But I'm afraid it would look like I let Mrs. Williamson's 2nd grade class come over for recess and play with finger paint on my walls, with colors that you didn't even know existed.

Maybe one day, when you come over, you'll see lovely patterned walls in my house, and know that a meticulous professional was hired behind my back because I would never had been able to agree to such a risk. And to whoever hires that professional, thanks in advance, I always wanted pretty walls.

Okay, I'm Ready.

Normally I'm not a fan of winter weather and being so completely cold that you can't think when you walk out your front door, but after looking at the J.Crew October catalog with perfect looks for fall, I think I'm ready now.

With neutral layers and booties that have I could stare at all day, I say bring on the cold. I could fight it off perfectly in each outfit above, all the while with a smile on my face and perhaps a heating blanket.

Yes, We Eat Goat. So What?

It's Labor Day weekend. For some this means a three day weekend, or the opening of dove season, or the long awaited start of college football. And as much as love those things as well, for Brady, it means Goat Cook Off Weekend. We don't even say Labor day. We just say "Hey, will you be home for the goat cook off?" "Hey will I see you Goat Cook Off Weekend?" Even though there is large number who absolutely do not care about this, I look forward to it so much. It means that I get to relax at home with my sweet family and see some of my best and closest friends. And after the ever so stressful week we've had at work, I couldn't ask for anything more.

Photobucket

I'll be a happy girl tomorrow at noon. These are the lovely things I have to look forward to:
-cuddling with my sweet cat
-giving my daddy a big kiss on the cheek
-pedicures with my mom and darling little sister
-catching up with so many old friends
-ranches
-delicious food
-running the Goat Gallop with my whole family
-high school football
-better yet, college football
-the best sonic in the country
-relaxation
-my ipod stocked with some great new music
-and best of all, my handsome boy coming to the city the day after I get back
Oh boy!

Ps, Can I please take that adorable outfit with me?

It's Monday, Turn It Up Even More.

1) Ben Rector / Autumn
2) The Smiths / Please, Let Me Get What I Want
3) Jose Gonzalez / Heartbeats
4) Mumford & Sons / Awake My Soul
5) Bon Iver / Skinny Love
6) Vampire Weekend / Taxi Cab

After this week, there are so many great things ahead. Including a long weekend home with family and sweet friends, a week with my boy in the city, and college football finally starting up. Getting through this Monday has been so much easier with tunes like these coming out of my desk speakers. Have a fabulous week!

Let's Vacation, Please.

I'm sitting at work tackling a new project. We're planning a week long party for a client and 22 of their friends on the amazing island of Anguilla. So I'm researching and planning and all the while I can't help but think, "My Goodness, I wish I was best friends with this person and they would invite me to their fabulous party." As I present ideas to them and plan more activities, I find myself trying to scheme ways to get me to Anguilla. Like perhaps planning something that would need on-site management so that we may attend and make sure things are just as perfect as they should be. Or maybe planning something that needs one "extra person", and how convenient, I now know the island like the back of the my hand so I believe I'd be the perfect "extra person".

I'm thinking I might need a quick trip there. You know, to scope things out. Make sure the sand is as white as the pictures and the water is as clear as it gives off. Make sure the beds are really as fluffy as they look and our client isn't being deceived.

Needless to say, if I have disappeared and am no where to be found, check Anguilla.

I'm traveling to Alabama tomorrow for a couple of days to see my handsome man graduate. I'm so excited! Plus, we get to celebrate two years together. It's sure to be a good weekend spent with his wonderful family, home cooked food, and my head on his shoulder.

Celebrate, Because You Deserve It.

I'm leaving in the morning with the girls to go celebrate Hope's birthday and I can't wait. Dresses, lots of friends, celebrating, and fun drinks. Sounds like the perfect weekend. Time with the girls is always needed so you should make any excuse you can for it.

Hopefully we'll all be that colorful when we go out. And I hope you have something great to celebrate this weekend, because I'm sure you deserve it. Have a fabulous weekend!

It's a Colorful World.

As I spent my night in my apartment, writing, working out, and cooking, I took a look at a few other designers' apartments and how they decorated the small space they were blessed with. Even though I'm not a huge color person, I fell in love with these textures and patterns from Lisa Grue featured on Design Sponge. So many things thrown together, but in some crazy way, it works.
