Celebrate, Because You Deserve It.

I'm leaving in the morning with the girls to go celebrate Hope's birthday and I can't wait. Dresses, lots of friends, celebrating, and fun drinks. Sounds like the perfect weekend. Time with the girls is always needed so you should make any excuse you can for it.

Hopefully we'll all be that colorful when we go out. And I hope you have something great to celebrate this weekend, because I'm sure you deserve it. Have a fabulous weekend!

It's a Colorful World.

As I spent my night in my apartment, writing, working out, and cooking, I took a look at a few other designers' apartments and how they decorated the small space they were blessed with. Even though I'm not a huge color person, I fell in love with these textures and patterns from Lisa Grue featured on Design Sponge. So many things thrown together, but in some crazy way, it works.

Flower Necklaces and Mom's Lipstick.

Today, after work, I went and spent the rest of my afternoon and some of my evening with one of my favorite four year old girls. We colored in the lines, braided hair, and danced in the living room. The only things missing were making necklaces out of wildflowers and getting into Mom's lipstick.

You May Need a Bib With That, Kid.

Today at lunch, I spilled a little bit of food on my dress. Does this happen to me often? Yes. Am I quick enough to get it off before the stain has already unpacked and settled in? No. For some reason, I never notice the mess I've made until everyone else has had a chance to see it. Until I've left lunch and sat back down at my desk knowing I walked around with a piece of my lunch on my shirt for a good while. Now I'm not proud of this trait. I'm not writing this so that you can give me a prize for messy meals or feel sorry for me and my clumsiness. I'm writing this to show you, that I know I can make a mess of pretty much anything. And if you are to see me after a meal with a stain on my shirt, skirt, dress, etc. and you think to yourself, "Does she know that's there? Should I tell her? Or will that embarrass her?" The answers to those questions: No, I'm not aware of the mess I've just made, even if it is expected. Please tell me since chances are it's been there a while. And no, you won't embarrass me, I'm used to conversations such as these.

I know I should probably wear a bib to save me from this bad habit, but I would much rather prefer these glorious "bibs". They may not save my clothes, but maybe while you're admiring one of these beautiful necklaces, your eyes won't notice the stain.

There's Always a Grey Area.

Tomorrow night is our anniversary party downtown for work and I'm so excited! It's been fun to plan our own event after meeting all the ideas and standards of our clients. Every year all the girls at work decide on one color and wear that for the party so that we don't have to do the whole black thing but we still match. This year, the color is grey. Even though I already found the dress for it, when I was browsing through the new collection at Modcloth today, I couldn't help but notice some other dresses that would have been perfect for this fabulous party!

Long Weekends Would Be my New Best Friend.

If they didn't leave so quickly. I have a feeling they wouldn't be the most reliable of friends. Maybe they do come at the perfect time, but it seems as though they are gone so quick that you don't even get to enjoy the bliss they bring. I filled up my weekend with shopping, a Rangers game, a reunion with my favorite girl, fireworks, a splendid movie, new friends and my first black bean burger. I mean it just doesn't get any better than that.

It was good to have some time to relax considering the week ahead of me. With my mom coming, getting everything ready for our work anniversary party on Thursday and packing for vacation next week, I could really use some quiet time on this lovely porch in the morning.

There's even a spot for my potential best friend "Mr. Long Weekend", if he hadn't vanished so quickly.
Have a lovely four day week!
