Look for the Week.

Coming back from a long weekend makes this relaxed look even more fitting. Not to mention, she is rocking that simple color combo.

A Weekend of {Camping Out}

I'm going camping on this long weekend for a family reunion and I think it's the right way to enjoy this weather. You know, before it gets so hot you're cooking your scrambled eggs on the sidewalk.

Guest Post by Design Shuffle: A Week of Flowers

On a daily basis, fresh flowers in our homes may be a luxury for many of us. Unless, of course, we’re lucky enough to have a garden with spring and summer blooming flowers. For those of us sans the blooming garden and decorating ideas, we've chosen a week of incredible flowers that can be grown in the yard or garden. All that’s needed is a green thumb and some patience. Or the number of a good, local florist.

Sunday {lilac}

One of our favorite spring flowers is the classic lilac. Ranging in color from whites to pale pinks, lavenders to deep purples; bunched together these clusters of tiny blooms are gorgeous. And the scent will make your home smell fresh and sweet without being cloying.

Monday {peonies}

Our love for peonies is bordering on obsession. Peonies are simply gorgeous. A single heavy bloom in a vase beside the bed makes us happy. Such a sensuous, beautiful flower, peonies range from white to ballet slipper pink to the deepest burgundies and everything in between.

Tuesday {lily of the valley}

Lily of the Valley is another old fashioned flower like lilacs that is a Spring time favorite. These have a very short blooming season so grab them when you see them. Clustered together, the tiny bell shaped blooms have a delicate, fresh scent.

Wednesday {irises}

Irises are one of the few blue flowers that occur naturally. We love them mixed with other flowers or a large bunch in a simple vase. Some kitchen designs feature a windowsill just waiting for fresh blooms.

Thursday {dahlias}

We're mad about dahlias. These versatile flowers rage from huge dinner plate size to diminutive architectural wonders. Dahlias come in almost every imaginable color.

Friday {ranunculus}

Ranunculus reminds us of a cross between a poppy, a dahlia and a peony. Lovely silvery green stems offset nearly every color of the rainbow from yellow to purple.

Saturday {irish bells}

A simple, architectural flower, Irish bells, are a gorgeous addition to mixed arrangements, or stunning on their own for a modern feel.

Checking The Covetour has become quite the highlight of my work day. And yesterday's post was the best of them all. They featured Suzanne Rogers out of Canada and I know a lady isn't supposed to stare but I couldn't look away from these fabulous photos. Most girls swoon over the clothes hanging in the closet, but for me it was the clothes along with the French design of the closet itself. It's the perfect match for a woman's closet. With unlimited mirrors, the perfect touches of gold, and a feminine feel taking over, it's a place men may see and feel they aren't even welcome to have a peak inside.

A Weekend of {Celebrating the Manfriend's Birthday}

Photobucket

Photobucket

Today is the Manfriend's birthday and Drew's parents flew me in to surprise him! Since I'm the absolute worst at keeping surprises, I found myself way too often almost giving it away. I don't know how I kept this secret in. He has flown to Texas and surprised me more times than I can count and I'm so glad to take my turn.

Drew and I started three years ago with a simple "Happy Birthday" and looking at where we are now amazes me. I miss not getting to celebrate his birthday as counselors at camp with too much ice cream, obnoxious songs, and photographing him sitting in a broken wheelchair on a table in the dining hall while a million people sing him "Happy Birthday" and he sneaks me the "I can't believe you" look. But I'm also so excited to get to spend the weekend in Alabama with the guy who keeps me sane, keeps me laughing, and always keeps me guessing. Happy Birthday Andrew!

Design Love.

Robyn Karp is such a fabulous designer and anytime I need more decorating inspiration, I love browsing all the beauty on her site and taking ideas with me. I love the elegant style with a simple and crisp look. I'd love to put all these photos together and turn them into a house with three bedrooms and three living rooms, because I feel I wouldn't be able to choose any favorites.

A Weekend of {The Graduates}

Photo: Pinterest "Style It - Bold"

So many of my friends are graduating college this weekend and although there is about four different places I wish I could be at once, family wins. I get to spend the weekend with all my dad's family and celebrate my cousin's graduation! I'm excited to be back in my old college town. I still feel so comfortable there and always eat way more than I should, while using the excuse that I never get to get to enjoy those restaurants anymore. Which I know isn't a good excuse at all. Here's to crazy family, amazing meals, and making a huge scene when their name gets announced.
